What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser, so that it can remember something from one page or visit to the next. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in much the same way, and this policy covers them too.

In Spain, cookies are regulated by Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002, of 11 July, on information society services and electronic commerce (LSSI-CE). This policy follows that law and the guide on the use of cookies published by the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

This website uses one cookie, and only one. It's set by this website itself, and only after you answer "Yes, I'm 18 or over" in the age check. If you answer "No", nothing is saved.

The only cookie this website uses
Name hwc_age
Provider Honey Weed Club (weedclubbenalmadena.com). It's this website's own cookie.
Purpose Remembers that you've confirmed you're 18 or over, so that the age check doesn't appear on every page.
Duration 30 days from your answer. After that, your browser deletes it and the website asks your age again.
Type Essential (technical). It doesn't need your consent.

Its value is simply "1". It doesn't contain your name or anything else about you, it doesn't give you an identifier, and it isn't used to follow what you do on this website or anywhere else. It's only ever sent to this website.

Technical details: it applies to the whole website (Path=/) and expires after 2,592,000 seconds, which is 30 days (Max-Age). It's marked SameSite=Lax, so other websites can't make your browser send it when they load content from this one. On secure connections (https), it's also marked Secure, so it only travels encrypted.

Article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE allows a website to use, without asking for consent, the cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have expressly asked for. The age check cookie is one of them: this website is only for adults, and without the cookie it couldn't remember your answer and would have to ask you on every page.

That's why there's no cookie banner. We'd still rather you knew exactly what the cookie does, which is what this page is for, and you can delete or block it whenever you like.

What this website doesn't use

  • No cookies from other companies or websites.
  • No analytics or statistics cookies.
  • No advertising, profiling or tracking cookies.
  • No social media buttons or embedded content that set their own cookies.
  • No logins or session cookies: there's nothing to sign in to.
  • No local storage, session storage or similar technologies.

Everything this website uses is served from our own domain, weedclubbenalmadena.com: the fonts, the scripts and the map. The map on our Visit page uses map data from OpenStreetMap, but our own server fetches the map images and sends them to you from this website. Your browser never connects to OpenStreetMap, so OpenStreetMap can't set cookies in it or see your visit.

Some links on this website take you to services run by others, such as WhatsApp and Google Maps. Once you're on their websites or apps, they may use their own cookies, under their own policies. We don't control those cookies, so please check their cookie policies.

How to delete or block the cookie

You're in control. In your browser's settings, usually under Privacy, Privacy and security, or Cookies and site data, you can:

  • see the cookies that each website has saved, and delete them;
  • delete only this website's cookie, by looking for weedclubbenalmadena.com in the list of sites;
  • block cookies from this website, or from every website.

Every browser does this slightly differently, on computers and on phones. Your browser's help pages explain how.

If you delete the cookie, the age check will appear again the next time you open a page on this website. If you block it, the website can't remember your answer, so it will ask your age on every page you open. And if you browse in a private or incognito window, your browser deletes the cookie when you close all your private windows.

Who is responsible

This website and its cookie are the responsibility of the association that runs Honey Weed Club. Its details, and how to contact it, are in our Legal notice. How the association handles personal data is explained in our Privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

If the cookies on this website change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If we ever wanted to use a cookie that needs your consent, we'd ask you for it first, before setting it.
